A recent article on Global News BC has drawn attention to the strain and trauma being borne by "frontine" workers who respond to overdose calls day and night. At First United, staff responds to OD's daily. Even if the user survives, the experience can take its toll on first responders who are often not EMT's but rather folk who work and volunteer in the neighbourhood. If the user passes away despite interventions, the trauma to responders can be significant. Please pray for these brave, stalwart folk who are giving so much.
